FOSSSP Holiday Dinner - Our chance to say “Thank You”
The Friends of Silver Springs State Park have a tradition. Every year at our December membership meeting, we sponsor a holiday party complete with turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, ham and about a 1/2 mile long table filled with an amazing array of scrumptious pot-luck side dishes and desserts.
It’s our way to say THANK YOU, MIL GRACIAS, MERCI, DANKE SCHÖN, ARIGATO (you get the message!) to all of the people who work so hard as volunteers, sponsors and employees to make Silver Springs State Park the real gift that keeps on giving all year long.
The December 12, 2019 holiday party was a smashing success. With over 150 Park lovers in attendance, we broke the record with this year’s event. We want to thank everyone who came and donated with special thanks to a great partner Cape Leisure, the folks who run the Park’s Springs Cafe, Gift Shop and Kayak/Canoe launch.
The Holiday Party is just one of the benefits of membership in the “Friends”. Check out our Membership page to see how you can rub shoulders on a regular basis with a group of folks who love this place and aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty, feet wet, raise money and tell everyone they meet about “our Park”….and, oh yes, have lots of fun in the Park doing it!
Also, make it a habit of checking our Events page for info on upcoming Friends meetings with speakers and discussions of timely interest to the Ocala community.
Friends of Silver Springs State Park is a Citizen Support Organization (CSO), a non-profit volunteer organization, dedicated to preserving and enhancing Silver Springs State Park. We support Silver Springs State Park by providing volunteers, educating visitors, hosting events and raising funds for specific park projects.
