In 2005 a couple of Friends of the Silver River were dedicated to opening horse trails on the north side of the river. Kathy Mattson and Carol Perez were instrumental in beginning the initiative to open the horse trails.
Friends of Silver Springs State Park are people and business with diverse interests, but all have a common thread: they care about the natural resources that are available at Silver Springs State Park.
Friends consist of people from all levels of activities, bike riders, boaters, equestrians, campers, dog walkers, parents, grandparents all enjoy the tremendous resources Silver Springs State Park offers.
We welcome you to explore the breathtaking beauty of Silver Springs State Park. The untouched, natural landscape gives our visitors an unique opportunity to see what the real Florida looked like many centuries ago.
